Wow. These people have an even more abnormal relationship with their sexuality than our society does. The mother was really an ass about this. If she wanted to "girl" her son, she certainly could have found a nicer way. Ugh. I kinda want to shoot people who even think zero-tolerance is reasonable in anything. It's certainly not if your children have good reasons for what they do.
You're right - zero tolerance is a stupid idea; it means people get disproportionately punished for trivialities, and resources get wasted dealing with minor offenses. And yeah, you're right, the society in the cap is fucked up, and the mother is frankly a bad parent, even in the context of a society where feminisation as punishment is normal...
