YAY! That was so quick for having a new one! I love how in your worlds, gender swaps are part of everyday life, and everyone reacts personally to them. I think our character's gradual empowerment is wonderful, I really hope she and Kate/Tom can hit it off right. What a delightful story telling knack :D - DAGS
Yeah, I tend to go through sudden bursts of capping creativity, followed by fallow periods, so at the moment I've got a bit of a back-log of things to post and I'm going to try to post one a week, during which time I'll hopefully get some more done and get into a sustainable rhythm. But 'real life' -whatever the hell that is - always gets in the way. Logically speaking, as medical technology improves, gender changing is going to get easier and easier (barring a catastrophe like nuclear war or a large scale problem with antibiotic immune bacteria). My caps are, in part, at least, trying to imagine how society might adapt to such a situation. It would be one of the biggest technological and social upheavals in human history, making the computer revolution seem trivial, and rivalling the development of writing or of agriculture. The sexual revolution has barely even begun. I think she's going to get it together with Tom/Kate. I think perhaps Kate thought of her/him as just a friend before, but now they've changed genders that's reset things a little. I really hope those crazy kids make it work!
I'd love to see a steady flow from you; your stories fill a special caption itch. Heh, it would be my favourite social upheaval, that's for sure. There's a great Neil Gaiman story called "Changes" about it, you might like. Keep up the superb work :D -DAGS
I'll try and keep a steady pace - easier said than done though. I'm a big fan of Neil - I actually met him once - but I don't think I've read Changes -it's in Smoke and Mirrors, right? - I don't have that one yet. That said, I think Sandman must be the single mainstream comic series with the most gender-crossing characters in it - three named characters, and that's not counting all the Shakespearian actors...
